Classes Green Spirit

Children’s Learning Academy

Our Classes

We believe that both children and teachers are capable, resourceful researchers, interested in inquiring seriously into the world around them. Such thoughtful engagement includes working through theories, thoughts, feelings and values in multiple modes of representation including drawing, writing, dance, music, painting, design and building, animal husbandry and mindfulness It includes the notion of children as full participants in their society and community, and creators of culture for others to study and enjoy.

Kindergarden To Grade 3

PRIMARY PROGRAM

For many children, kindergarten is the foundation of their education. It is a time for both play and learning, two facets in which there is a great deal of overlap. Our kindergarten focuses on developing your children’s skills so that they approach school with confidence, excitement and eagerness.

In the years from kindergarten through Grade 3, children will develop competence in academics, nature, and life skills. They will learn how to be a critical thinker, and how to live in harmony with each other and with our Mother Earth.

Grade 7 to Grade 8

Intermediate Program

The time spent in Intermediate school (6th – 8th grade) is a formal operational stage of development for children. During this stage, your child will develop skills to logically solve problems, understand different views, and make plans for the future. Our goal as teachers is to inspire, engage and empower your intermediate learner during this critical stage of development.

The intentional use of “each” is woven into the philosophy and education at Green Spirit Educational Academy. Aligned with a project-based approach to learning, this philosophy helps meet the emotional and social needs of children at the intermediate school level.

Project-based learning is a student- centered methodology that engages students in developing critical thinking skills through undertaking authentic, meaningful projects. It is a teaching strategy that focuses on real-world problems and challenges using problem-solving, decision-making and investigative skills. This method aligns the mental capacity and attention span of intermediate aged children with an open yet structured learning environment.
