About Green Spirit

Helping Young Minds Grow

Green Spirit Educational Academy has been developed to support our children during the transitional period that we find ourselves in today due to woke ideology, the lack of parental concern in the public school system, as well as the cookie cutter conformist curriculum and grading system which is affecting our children’s creativity, learning outcomes, and mental health. We believe that academics still have an important role to play in our children’s future endeavours, but we also understand that each child is a unique, creative genius with many gifts to share within their community. Identifying and using hands-on, project-based learning allows us to offer a strength- based approach for the multiple intelligences each child possesses. Student life at Green Spirit is incredibly supportive at all levels including emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically, and academically.

Our Education

Teaching Our Children How to Think

Not What Not To Think

Our school offers education with a holistic, student-centered, and relationship driven approach inspired by the philosophies of Reggio Emilio, Waldorf, and Montessori and delivered through Forest School and Environmental pedagogy. We strive to help develop our students’ individual genius and guide them in reconnecting with our Mother Earth. We believe that knowledge of the natural world and how it works is fundamental to informed governance and in maintaining our sovereignty. It is using these various philosophies that incorporate nature, gardening/farming/animal husbandry, that will build the leaders and the stewardship necessary to understand and take on the challenges our earth faces.

While we loosely follow the Ontario curriculum in math, sciences, and languages, our curriculum is based on the 5 elements of Earth; earth, air, fire, water, and space and along with math, sciences and languages includes gardening and farming skills, Nature walks & talks, wilderness survival skills, animal husbandry, cooking and life skills, money and finance, innovative living solutions and planet restoration, yoga and mindfulness, and critical reasoning and analysis.

We believe that both children and teachers are capable, resourceful researchers, interested in inquiring seriously into the world around them. Such thoughtful engagement includes working through theories, thoughts, feelings and values in multiple modes of representation including drawing, writing, dance, music, painting, design and building, animal husbandry and mindfulness. It includes the notion of children as full participants in their society and community, and as creators of culture for others to study and enjoy.

Our Playground

Perfect environment for Learning

Play areas are important for children, giving them a space for pretending, expressing and imagining themselves. Play areas promote thinking, problem solving, and turn taking, and help children learn and develop skills in all domains. Of course, play areas are also important for developing physical dexterity and good health.
